If there is something that i adore and i would eat everyday, this is hummus! I am totally crazy for it and indeed I eat it at least 3 times per week as a side of my dinner. Moreover it is so easy to prepare that it becomes perfect when you don’t have ideas for the dinner and you don’t have time to prepare anything elaborated.
Usually I cook a pack of chickpeas during the week end and I store them in the frizzer so that during the week I just use the quantity I need and I can enjoy a fantastic hummus. I don’t buy the chickpeas in tin as usually they contain salt, so I prefer to buy them dry and cook them by myself.
Ingredients for 1 portion:
150 gr of boiled chickpeas
Half lemon juice
A big handful of basil
Pepper
1 teaspoon of olive oil
Method:
Put in a blender all the ingredients. Blend till you create a creamy consistency. If it is too dry and thick add a bit of water and bland gain till you obtain the texture you prefer.
You can enjoy it cold or, if you prefer, you can warm it up in a pan and serve like a side for your dishes. Enjoy!
